As a guide always remember the general rule – the bigger the number the finer the sewing needle.

These needles have a large eye and a sharp point and are used for crewel embroidery, candlewicking and ribbon embroidery.

Size 18-22 – ideal to use on a heavy fabric.

The sharp point is needed to pierce the fabric for embroidery – don’t use for tapestry.
