Southern Masked Weaver MD
R242.00 (incl. vat)
Renamed ‘Southern Masked Weaver’, these birds are common in Southern Africa.
The males are a distinctive yellow and black colour when breeding.
The male bird strips the leaves off the branch of a tree on which he builds a hanging woven nest. If the nest is not up to the female bird’s standard she will rip it to pieces and the male bird will have to start building another nest from scratch.
These weavers eat seeds, insects, soft fruit, flowers and food scraps.
