Knysna Turaco “Lourie” MD

Turacos were previously known as’Louries’ in South Africa. Knysna Turacos are found in the extreme south-eastern coastal area and in the eastern escarpment riverine and evergreen forests. They are either solitary or found in small groups. These birds are vocal in response to other bird’ s calls and fly on rounded wings, gliding and landing in the centre of trees.They eat fruit, insects and earthworms.
