My intention was to learn as many new skills as possible and like the Victorians smother the work with stitching and embellishments. I still keep finding areas which can do with a “little something”, possibly because I have had such fun and I don’t want the project to come to an end.
I learned needle tatting this year and found this skill invaluable for the purpose at hand. My small beginner attempts were easily accommodated and encouraged me to learn more and more.
The joy of this form of surface embroidery is that you can experiment without a huge commitment. It is a good idea to incorporate all those small projects we accumulate over time. This results in an attractive record of your work and interests.
